WE ARE AN INDEPENDENT RESTAURANT FOUNDED BY HELEN BENTLEY.
Stanley’s started small with only 6 tables and a 4 by 2-meter kitchen that was more like a cupboard. There were only 3 of us then with but we’ve since grown dramatically and we put our success down to taking pride in serving great food and coffee, with attentive service. We care about our customers and we care care about our staff.
This ethos has made us increasingly popular and people come from far and wide, locally, nationally and internationally, to enjoy our wonderful hospitality.

ABOUT THE FAMILY
The restaurants name is a homage to ‘Grandpa Stanley’, Grandfather of business owner Helen Bentley.
Helens Mum Judith and Gran Molly , taught Helen everything they knew about cooking, baking and fine foods which lead to Helens successful career as a Chef working with Francis Coulson MBE and Brian Sack at the Sharrow Bay Hotel in the Lake District. Helen also worked at Terry Laybourne’s (OBE) 21 Queen Street restaurant, renowned for having a Michelin Star.
